Valerian has been used in the traditional medicine of many cultures as a sedative, a tranquilizer and to aid the induction of sleep. It was known to Dioscorides ( A.D. 41-68 ), in ancient Rome and has been used since that time.
Cultivation: Sow Spring to late Summer. 50-100cm space between plants. Perennial. 1-1.5m height.
