The berries of this deciduous plant, whose Chinese name literally translates into “five flavor berry,” have been used as a powerful adaptogen, cognitive enhancer, and mood lifter in China for over 2000 years.

Active Constituents: Schizandrin A and Gomisin A.

Usage: 1/2 gram per day steeped in hot water. Traditionally, the berries were soaked in water for several hours prior to use to remove tannin's. A famous traditional Chinese preparation soaks them in wine after the water, and the berries are enjoyed with the wine.
