Cats Claw is a woody vine found in South and Central America, which gets its name from its claw-shaped thorns.
The indigenous peoples of South America have used Cats Claw as a herbal remedy for over two thousand years. It is traditionally used as a general tonic as well as in the treatment of a variety of ailments including methadone addiction, arthritis, inflammation, diarrhea, rheumatic disorders, acne, diabetes, cancer and diseases of the urinary track, diabetes, PMS, chronic fatigue syndrome, prostate conditions and HIV. It is also added to some preparations of Ayahuasca.
Usage: Consumed as a tea, one gram of root bark given 2 to 3 times daily is a typical dose.
